One of these, in black specifically. I know the Northstars can be trouble(but so is almost every other luxury car from 1994 too)but its a damn good looking car, a car that represents a significant step for Cadillac in the climb out of the 1982-1986 “dark times”
Though FWD the styling has an American Lagonda look that still looks great today, and with 300hp they move quite well, I always remember the first black on black new 97 STS I drove, watch that tach rip right up to redline and grab another gear, and the acceleration was just building and building....pretty damn cool. Plus it makes a really good “bad guy” car.
Right? Wrong? Indifferent? You tell me......

I like the STS. It looks understated for the most part and then you have quad exhaust tips and that low roof-line.
Yes.

Huge fan of the 92-97 Seville. This car still holds up after all these years, in a way the first gen CTS never managed to. I own it's two door Eldorado relative, and it's a fantastic car. Love these things, even if the engine is a bit grenade happy.

I was just looking at these. I’ve been really surprised at how good these look after so long. I know the CTS is RWD and a better driver, but this looks way better.

Not the biggest fan of the fairly squarish greenhouse but it is a pretty good looking car. Fast as well. It definitely was Cadillac’s first proper step towards what it is today.

They eat up the miles really nice. Just take care of your Northstar - don’t like being abused. I work with a guy that had a black Northstar Eldo for a bunch of years - had a bunch of fun with it.

My dad had a 96 STS it was great, but the steering was horrible. You don’t know torque steer until you drive a fingertip Cadillac with 300 horse to the front wheels. It would throw every warning light in the book after a long Highway trip (transmission warning and engine warning, both checked out buy Cadillac but never any fault found) but never let us down. It is an incredible motor if you can keep it from self-destructing. The main thing with the Northstar is let the motor warm up even on warm days, so that the head bolts don’t eject from the block taking the threads with them.

I’ve always loved these.
